"Foxcatcher" is Amazing. It tells the true story of Mark Schultz, played by Channing Tatum. Schultz is an Olympic wrestler living in the shadow of his big brother Dave, played by Mark Ruffalo. Dave is much more popular than Mark but they are still extremely talented athletes. Dave is much more popular but Mark is ready to step into the spotlight. He gets a call from John du Pont, played by Steve Carrell, a wealthy man that sees a lot in Mark. John asks him to live with him and coach him for the upcoming Olympics. Mark accepts and realizes that his life completely changes when he makes this drastic change to his life.
This film is extremely well done. The cinematography was beautifully executed by how Du Pont was always shown as the dominant figure with the camera looking up at him. The best part of the film was to see how these characters were perfectly crafted. Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum did an amazing job portraying a wrestler's lifestyle by their walk, their stance, and how they portrayed all the aspects of being a wrestler. Steve Carrell completely outdid himself in this film, and it is easily his best role he has ever played. His complete transformation through his physique, and his voice makes him deserve an Oscar. It will be a toss-up for his role, and Michael Keaton's role in Birdman.
