"Guardians of the Galaxy" is a great film for the summer. Peter "Starlord" Quill, played by Chris Pratt, is an outlaw of the galaxy. After stealing a powerful orb, every one wants to get their hands on it. He ends up being sent to one of the prisons that hold outlaws of the galaxy. There he meets a killer Raccoon, named Rocket, voiced by Bradley Cooper, a talking, moving tree, named Groot, played by Vin Diesel, Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana, and madman, named Drax, played by Dave Bautista. They team to form the Guardians of the Galaxy, to take down Ronan, who has his eyes et on destroying the entire galaxy with the orb.
This film is very exciting, and is a fast-paced roller coaster ride. The film takes place over a course of a few days. The film picks up very early with the countless amounts of comic relief, and amazing soundtrack. The soundtrack uses a lot of songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and it is really a key part to why the film is so well made. The cast was incredible in this film. The supporting roles included, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, and many others. The main characters were obviously great. Dave Bautista and Vin Diesel, did decent jobs for their roles, and they added to the comic relief, and were the main reasons why the film was so funny. Bradley Cooper did an amazing job as Rocket, and it was great to see him do something different from the norm. Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt were great together in this film, and they are really starting to blossom. This film is very exciting and worth your while.

"Lucy" is a Thrill Ride
"Lucy" is a thrill ride. Lucy, played by Scarlett Johansson, is an innocent young woman caught in a deadly drug deal. She is used for an experiment where a bag of synthetic drugs are forcibly inserted into her stomach. When the bag leaks, the drug changes her into a superhuman, basically. Slowly Lucy grows her central capacity. She goes through unimaginable changes that gives her the strength, and knowledge to take her down who captured her, with the help of Professor Norman, played by Morgan Freeman, also to discover what exactly is happening to Lucy.
This film is great because of how fast paced the film is, and the great cast. This film is only an hour and a half but it is so quick, that you don't even realize. The violence, and nonstop action will keep you interested throughout. This film is great mainly because of Morgan Freeman and Scarlett Johansson, they really carry the film very well. Morgan Freeman does a great job as a supporting role. He is one of the best actors of our generation, and his voice impeccable to listen to, and it was captivating when listening to the presentation he gave during the film. Scarlet Johansson is a very underrated actress. She is incredible, and I think people underestimate how good she is because of her beauty. yes she is absolutely gorgeous, maybe even the most beautiful woman in the world, but she is also an amazing actress and did a great job for this film.

Our World is Changing
When we try to
complete something we are doing it with media and/or social media. With our
second screen we are on Facebook, while we are doing homework, and also while
we are watching television. Our society now consists of distractions especially
when we are doing homework. We want to check our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter,
text messages, email, or whatever else. And also listen to music, and catch up
on our shows while we are trying to read or write a paper. Because our media
consumes our lives it takes longer to complete assignments because we need to
know certain things as fast as possible.
Social media is a big part of a student’s life, and maybe now anyone’s
lives. It is so easy for us to obtain information, and we use social media as a
catharsis, an emotional release. Since, it’s easy to find information we can
try to use it as a way to escape. We like checking up on our friends without
doing much. With a News feed, we can easily learn about what our friends are
doing without even lifting a finger, we just have to scroll down. And students
do this especially when we do homework. We become uninterested, when we are
doing homework. We do not want to read, or write a paper, because we would rather
check on what people are doing on Facebook, or catch up on our favorite shows
on Netflix, or finish a video game while trying to complete an assignment.
Being digital natives, we have dealt with our new technology, and how it has
developed. It is a social norm to be on Facebook, or listen to music while
doing Homework. Or, text or check Facebook on our phones while spending time
with our friends. It is normal now to act this way.
Our
world is changing. The new technology is unfathomable, and now each new piece
of technology comes with a social norm. It is normal to multitask. And things
that were suspect from our parent’s generation is not as suspect today. This
new generation is controlling how we live our lives because teenagers make up a
majority of the Internet because of their social interactions, and how they
know how to utilize the technology that is given to them. It might be
considered questionable but or wrong but it is the new way of doing things and
we becoming accustomed to it.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is one of the Best Films you Will See This Year.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is one of the best films you will see this year. The film picks up after the first film with San Francisco in a post-apacolyptic state. Only a few hundred barely surviving. The other side of San Francisco is swarmed by a large pack of apes all led by a fearless, incredibly intelligent Caesar. Caesar has led a society for these apes and he wants is for the humans to keep them separated. Problems arise when the humans need to use the power supply near where the apes live. Caesar has to decide if they can trust the humans that betrayed them years ago or team up.
This film is incredibly exciting to watch. It is incredibly exciting to see the two sides of the situation they are in with the humans and apes. The humans are led by Gary Oldnan's character, and Jason Clarke's character and fanily. They do a great job in this film as always. Andy Serkis does an amazing job as Ceasar. It is extremely hard to act out an animal or a creature that is not real. The way the apes interacted with each other and how they have created their own society is fascinating to watch throughout the film. The film is exciting and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

"The Bicycle Thief" Analysis
This film is a
great example of the realist theory and the formalist theory. The actors were
not professional, deep focus long takes and the location really showed the
rawness and validity of this story. The camera movements, close-ups, set
design, and wardrobe enhance the story and make everything look up to standard.
Antonio and Bruno can also be a representation of post WWII Italians because of
their determination of finding a new and better way of living. It is an amazing
film that is so captivating because of the accurate portrayal it depicts.

The Oscars
Stop, turn, take a look around at all
the lights and sounds. When I think of lights and sounds I think of movies.
Movies have evolved throughout our existence and it has really become a
competitive field to come up with the greatest film for the year. Whether it is drama, independent, romantic or
foreign movies have always been life changing. When it comes to award
ceremonies for films the Oscars are the greatest in the industry. The Academy
Award ceremony is so important because it has been around for over eighty years,
it has been the greatest award ceremony for critically acclaimed films and an
Oscar that is won is very prestigious.
The Academy Awards are run by the
Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences. The honorary society was formed in
1927 although the first award ceremony was held in 1929. According to http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com “You must be invited by the Academy to
become a member.” Also “the Academy is involved with a lot of different
projects.” From film preservation to developing new film technology, but the
Academy is best known for the award ceremony.
The Members of the Academy include actors, directors, producers, and a
number of film craftsmen. They choose who will win the coveted award called an
Oscar. This incredible event has been around for so long. Honorees and Nominees
get dressed up there is a red carpet for them and it has really evolved into a
spectacular event just like how films have evolved through all the years.
So it obvious that the Academy is one
of the most well noted groups that know basically everything you need to know
when it comes to films. This group has been the epitome of knowledge when
dealing with films. According to http://www.oscars.org
“Awards are presented for outstanding individual or collective efforts
in up to 25 categories.” Also on the same website is says “the Oscars reward
the previous year’s greatest cinema achievements as determined by some of the
world’s most accomplished motion picture artists and professionals.” The films
are chosen to be nominated are not random films that are in theatres. They are
critically acclaimed films that have been praised and awarded for their great
hard work that was put into it.
The Academy Awards has definitely
changed film for the better. The Oscar has become something that every actor,
producer, director, and editor wants in their hands. They want to walk up those
steps and make the coveted speech to say that you have won and all of your work
has paid off. According to www.filmsite.org “The establishment of the Academy (and
its awards system) has had a major effect and influence upon the film industry,
due to the enormous boost a nomination or award (for a film or actor) creates,
by giving prestige and bottom-line profits to a studio or performer.” Everyone
in the industry wants to make that speech. Winning an Oscar
means you are basically one of the best in the film industry. And you are
looked as greatness. The constant in and out of acting and the in and out of
producing and the in and out of editing can really explain who are nominees and
who are Oscar winners.
The Academy Awards have been around for
so long. This incredible event has become the embodiment of ceremonies for good
films that are out there in the world. This is the greatest award ceremony for
films and an Oscar is an award any person in the film industry wants to get
their hands on.
