"Midnight Cowboy" is a Great Film That Changed the Film Industry Forever

"Midnight Cowboy" is a great film that changed the film industry forever. It has Joe Buck, played by Jon Voight, going to New York. He is a Texas Cowboy trying to start new from his terrible past we learn later in the film. He tries to become a male prostitute in New York. Trying to find any woman off the street, to pay for his services. He is a very naïve man who is trying to start fresh. He then meets a man, named Rizzo, played by Dustin Hoffman. Rizzo is a man trying to get by with the little money he has, but tries to help Joe. He wants to help Joe and become friends with him because he is very lonely, and Joe does not have friends in the city, and he tries to become friends with him. As the movie progresses, we see their friendship becoming a brotherhood.

This film is amazing and it reflects how things were in the late 60s, early 70s. It really has a lot of commentary about the American Dream, sexuality, and relationships in general. What helps the movie gain its credibility as great, is the acting and also the storytelling. Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight were spectacular together and they really deserved their nominations. Both roles were very controversial and emotional and they did a great job for this movie. The directing and writing coming together beautifully also made this film amazing. The film explains the friendship of Joe and Rizzo but also explains the past of Joe's together very well. Everything flowed very well, for a movie that had two story lines going on at once. This movie needs to be viewed very closely to fully understand the undertones of the film, but it is very good. Please watch it!
