"12 Years a Slave" has a great chance of winning this sunday for Best Picture.

"12 Years a Slave" has a great chance of winning this sunday for Best Picture. I have thought about this extremely hard the past few weeks, and I truly believe this film will win. Yes it is deserving and incredible, I do not think this should win overall. I believe "American Hustle" "Her" "Wolf of Wall Street" deserved to win mainly because of the amazing writing, directing, and amazing cast in each of the three films. I believe "12 Years a Slave" will win because of incredible Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupita Nyong'o were in this film. Also Michael Fasbender, Paul Giammati, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Brad Pitt and many others. Furthermore, Steve McQueen is a genius. This film was only his second feature film, and he nailed it. It will be a close race for the winner, but I do believe "12 Years a Slave" will win.

R.I.P. Harold Ramis

Harold Ramis was a hilarious actor, who helped make "Ghostbusters" one of the best and funniest films of all time. He was also in other great roles in "Knocked Up" and "Stripes." He was a talented man, with him being a writer, producer, director, and actor. He will be missed.

"Frozen" is a shoe in for Best Animated Feature film this year

"Frozen" is a shoe in for Best Animated Feature film this year. The other nominees include "The Croods" "Despicable Me 2" "Ernest & Celestine" and "The Wind Rises." "Frozen" is a cute, unforgettable musical made for disney. It is one of the best they have made in a long time. It is hilarious, exciting, and extremely creative. And Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad do an amazing job for this film. It is a great film to see for any age, and there is a strong possibility that it will an Oscar.

Jennifer Lawrence could win another Oscar for her role in "American Hustle"

Jennifer Lawrence could win another Oscar for her role in "American Hustle." It amazes me how incredible she is as an actress. Every role she is in, is gold, even "House at the End of the Street." She is one of the few actresses that can truly say she can break out of her teenage roles, like with "Hunger Games" and also have amazing roles in a dramatic sense, including "Silver Linings Playbook" and now "American Hustle." Her first starring role, "Winter's Bone" landed her an Oscar nomination and now she has an Oscar for "Silver Linings Playbook" and now another nomination for her role as Rosalyn in "American Hustle." Jennifer has a decent chance of beating Lupita Nyong'o for role in "12 Years a Slave." But I will not be surprised if Lupita. Regardless, they both did an amazing job for their roles this year and every other nominee.

Jonah Hill is a contender for Best Supporting Actor

Jonah Hill is a contender for Best Supporting Actor. His role in "Wolf of Wall Street" was incredible. He was hilarious, edgy, confident, and it really showed how much he has improved as an actor. He has always been a great actor,  when he was in comedies, and in his later career with "Moneyball" and "Cyrus" he was impeccable. He has really grown as an actor, and he is one of the best actors in the business today. In "Wolf of Wall Street" he was hilarious, and his role was believable and with his accent we could tell that he really worked hard for this role and he deserved the nomination he was given. With that being said, I do not believe he will win this year because I think, Jared Leto, will win for his role as Rayon in "Dallas Buyers Club." I think it is a lock in for Jared Leto to win because he was too fantastic to be beaten by anyone else.

Cate Blanchett has a really good chance of winning Best Actress this year

Cate Blanchett has a really good chance of winning Best Actress this year. "Blue Jasmine" was incredible and one of Woody Allen's best. This film is nominated for a few Oscars, and it is extremely deserving. Cate Blanchett, plays Jasmine, a woman who's life is going downhill, trying to restart her life after the demise of her divorce. She is a drinker, and this really helps her demise, because she is dependent on alcohol to get through her time of depression. She is "blue" and depressed. And she wants to get better, and get back to her luxurious life when she was married. She won a golden globe for her role in this film, and she is worthy of winning an Oscar for this film. The contenders for this category are Amy Adams, and Meryl Streep but I truly think Cate Blanchett is the front runner.

Leonardo Dicaprio is a top contender for Best Actor, Next to Chiewetel Ejiofor and Matthew McConaughey

Since the Oscars are only a few weeks away, I am going to be talking topics and actors and actresses and directors regarding this year's ceremony. Today, I will be talking about Leonardo Dicaprio. This year it is very exciting for him because he has gotten an Oscar nomination for the first time in seven years, for his role in "The Wolf of Wall Street." Yes he is attractive and excellent in every role he is in, and he is just a genius when it comes to acting. But lets face facts, history could repeat itself. He has been nominated three times before for amazing roles also, and he got snubbed. I do think though, if he was going to win for Best Actor, this role would be it. He was spectacular in "The Wolf of Wall Street" and he might have had his best role ever. Because of the raw, sex-crazed, edgy behavior, and drug-addicted character he played was so believable he really might have a chance to beat the top contenders for this award, which include Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Matthew McConaughey. This year is so tight, there is not a huge front runner for any role and I am very excited to see if Leonardo Dicaprio will win Best Actor for his amazing performance in "The Wolf of Wall Street."

"The Grey" is a Fantastic Film.

"The Grey" is a fantastic film. It tells the story of seven oil workers boarding a flight back home from Alaska. After the plane crashes, they are forced into survival into the bitter cold wilderness. Leading the way is John Ottway, played by Liam Neeson. Ottway is a trained huntsman and helps protects the six other oil workers from wolves and whatever is in the wild with them. They are forced to try to survive against the ferocious wild with a large group of wolves zeroing in on them, until it is too late.

This film is an action-packed film. It is a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is gripping exciting, gorey, violent, and entertaining to watch. Each and every year we see Liam Neeson in an another action film, and it is amazing to see. He is sixty two years old, and he is in these crazy, action-packed films that thrilling towards the end. This film is one of his best action films. He has really been in some great films and he is a great actor. His great films include, "Schindler's List" "Batman Begins" and "Michael Collins." He has really made a name for himself in this business, and this film is one of his best to date.

"I am Legend" is a Great Film will Will Smith

"I am Legend" is a great film with Will Smith. Robert, played by Will Smith, is a scientist living in New York City, with him and his only companion, his dog. The year is 2009, but after a terrible virus that was incurable, he is one of the only few that are still alive in the world. Victims of the plague lurk around the city, trying to infect Robert. Robert tries to find any survivors that have any more information he does, before it is too late.

This film is great mainly because of Will Smith. He has been one of the best actors of our generation. From starting out in "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and then starring in hit films like "Pursuit of Happyness" "Seven Pounds" and "Independence Day." In this film, it mostly consisted of him. And much like Tom Hanks in "Cast Away" and James Franco in "127 Hours" he did an amazing job for the role of his lifetime. He is funny, courageous, and a hell of an actor. He has proven that he has been in hilarious films, action films, and dramatic films. And this film and "The Pursuit of Happyness" are his best films by far, if you have not seen them you should today. This film is exciting , and incredibly gripping, and Will Smith is incredible in it.

"Martian Child" is a Great Film with the Cusacks

"Martian Child" is a great film with the Cusacks. David, played by John Cusack, is a science fiction writer. After his wife passed he has been alone, and wanting more out of life. He has an idea of adopting a child. This is skeptical to his sister, Liz, played by Joan Cusack, and other friends and family of his, but he does anyway. He is looking for more out of life, so he adopts a little boy named Dennis, played by Bobby Coleman. Dennis is a troubled child that dreams of going to Mars, and really only spends time in a box alone. David sees a lot of himself in Dennis and takes acre of him. At first it is a hassle adjusting to the new living situation for both David and Dennis but they get through it.

This film is very good even for a family film. Bobby Coleman was only ten years old in this film, but he played his role very well. He is a troubled kid, and this not easy for any actor, but he played the part very well. Some great supporting roles in this film were Amanda Peet and Sophie Okonedo, and also Oliver Platt. Amanda Peet is a beautiful and talented actress that have been in many popular films and she nailed her role. Sophie Okonedo has been in many great films including "Hotel Rwanda" and "Secret Life of Bees" and this was also an amazing role for her. Oliver Platt is one of my favorite actors. He is hilarious in any role especially on "The Big C" and "Love and Other Drugs." But the Cusacks were also fantastic in this film. I have been a fan of theirs for awhile and they really did a great job for this film and any role they are given. If you have not watched "Shameless" you need to, because not only is the show spectacular, Joan Cusack, has one of her best roles ever on this show. John Cusack is always great in any role. With "Say Anything" "High Fidelity" "Being John Malkovich" and this film he steals the show in any film.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio are Perfect Together

"Revolutionary Road" is a great film with Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio. April, played by Kate Winslet, and Frank, played by Leonardo Dicaprio are married living in suburban Connecticut. They have two children and after seven years of marriage they are not happy. Frank commutes to his job in New York, and after the same old song and dance he is not content with his life. And April is a housewife, but she is doing after she gave up her dreams of becoming an actress. One day out of the blue, April brings up the idea of moving, to Paris. Frank is skeptical, but excited about this idea. After telling his closest friends, Frank becomes reluctant, and has a spiral turn for the worst, and so does April. They are fed up with their boring lives and they want something new.

This film is based on a novel, and it was a great rendition. It has an extraordinary cast, with Kathy Bates, Dylan Baker, Michael Shannon, David Harbour, and Kathryn Hahn, and countless others. Obviously though, Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet were fantastic in this film. It is great to see them together in any film. "Titanic" skyrocketed their careers, and they are two of the best actors of all time. Leonardo Dicaprio is an amazing actor and I believe "The Wolf of Wall Street" is his pinnacle role, and he deserved the nomination he was given. Kate Winslet has been one of my favorite actresses, for awhile now. She is beautiful, and she is extremely talented. Her roles in "The Reader" "Little Children" and "Titanic" have helped her into her stardom. This film was a great role for both of them, and the whole film was an authentic look at 1950's suburbia, but it is also timeless because everybody struggles and everyone strives for better.

"JFK" is One of the Best Films of All Time

"JFK" is one of the best films of all time. It tells the story of District Attorney, Jim Garrison, played by Kevin Costner, trying to figure out the meaning and the truth behind JFK's assassination.  Garrison has an in-depth investigation, three years after the assassination. People said he was crazy for doing this, but he was set on finding the truth. What he discovers is something completely unexpected that could affect his well being.

This film is considered a classic. Oliver Stone wrote and directed this incredible film. He has been in this business for decades, and he has proved to us that he is one of the best in the business. This film, "Born on the Fourth of July""Platoon" "Wall Street" and "Nixon" are his best and he still is producing, directing, writing today and it is great to see. This film also has an amazing cast. Gary Oldman plays Lee Harvey Oswald. This is a great role for him. He is an amazing actor and you can see how intense he has to be, to play such an aggressive person. Joe Pesci plays David Ferrie. And he usually plays a mobster member or anything similar and he is great at this role. He can play a tough guy role because he is used to it, and we are used to him doing this. Mrs. Garrison is played by Sissy Spacek, and she is amazing at any role she does. She is known for "Carrie" but obviously this is a much different role from "Carrie" but she nailed it. I feel like Kevin Costner got snubbed for an Oscar nomination for this film. 1991 brought many great actors in that category, including, Robin Williams, Warren Beatty, Nick Nolte, Robert DeNiro, and Anthony Hopkins. They are all incredible actors but Kevin Costner was incredible in this film. It takes a lot for an actor to become a real person, and played that person in a three hour film. He did win a Golden Globe for his role. This film is incredible. It might be a little ridiculous, and maybe not 100% truthful but it a thrill ride and exciting to watch even for three hours. Go see this film.

"Cast Away" is One Reason Why Tom Hanks is One of the Best Actors Ever

"Cast Away" is one reason why Tom Hanks is one of the best actors ever. Chuck, played by Tom Hanks is a FedEx executive. After a terrible plane crash he is forced to live on his own on a deserted island. He goes through many obstacles of surviving, making fires, savaging for food, and trying to stay alive, all for returning to his loved one,  Kelly, played by Helen Hunt. After years of surviving on this island, Chuck has completely transformed into a different person but still remains set on his goal of returning home.

This film is incredible mainly because of Tom Hanks. For about 90% of this film it is just Tom Hanks. Only a few actors can pull the deserted person role, Will Smith, in "I am Legend", and Tom Hanks are only two. Everything in this film was so interesting to watch. And this was mainly because of the amazing directing by Robert Zemeckis. There are not many actors that can pull of this role, and Tom Hanks clearly deserved every recognition of this film. I doubt you haven't seen this film, because most people have seen it, but this film clearly displays that Tom Hanks is one of the most well-rounded actors. Furthermore, most of his films are not flops. He has been in a countless amount of films, and he has also produced many great shows including, "Big Love" and "The Pacific." He is one of the best ever, hands down.

R.I.P. Phillip Seymour Hoffman

This is a sad day for me. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was one of my favorite actors of all time. He is so influential with his work, and his work was timeless. He brought such a persona to screen. I have said time and time again, a key to being a great actor is being able to show credibility on screen, especially when switching genres. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was hilarious in "Along Came Polly" when he was playing basketball and yelling "Rain dance" and thinking he was a big shot after having done one great movie. He was spectacular in "Capote" and his hard work paid off with an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance. He has been in such great films including "The Big Lebowski" "Moneyball" "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" "Charlie Wilson's War" and my favorite of his roles, "Mary and Max." It is a shame that he is gone so soon, regardless of how he died. He was one of my favorite actors, and he will be missed.

Super Bowl is A Great Event

The Super Bowl is tomorrow. This football game has turned out to be a giant event in television history. With the commercials, the halftime show, and the game in general it has turned into a great event that is not only for men anymore. Sports has been a masculine thing for decades. But with the new movies and the Super Bowl becoming a great show to watch it is really for everyone. I hope everyone has a great time, and try not to get sick on wings and beer. I really don't mind who wins but I hope it is an entertaining game and everyone has fun.
