Donald Glover is One of the Most Talented People

So, I have been listening to Childish Gambino, alot lately. Donald Glover is one of the most talented people in the world. Not only is he an amazing performer, rapper, actor, he is also an amazing writer. He has made a short film this past month, and it is incredible. Glover wrote, and starred, and produced this film, and he did an amazing job. I am fascinated when musicians switch to films, or television actors switch to films or vice versa. It seems to be the normal thing for actors to switch from television to films, or musicians acting. Donald Glover is an amazing man because all of the talent he possesses. Please watch his short film, it is a great example of realist films, and it also fantastic.

Musicians to Actors to Musicians

It seems like it is more prevalent to see talented musicians are switching to film. For example Jared Leto, the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, is in more and more movies and keeps getting better, especially in Dallas Buyers Club. And most recently, Taylor Swift will be in the film based on the novel, The Giver. Musicians are very talented and most of them want to portray their talent a different, by acting in films. More and more musicians are looking to act on the big screen.

"The Lego Movie" is Not Just for Kids

"The Lego Movie" is not just for kids. The Lego Movie tells the story of Emmet, voiced by Chris Pratt. Emmet is an ordinary Lego trying to fit in with his friends. He is a construction worker trying to do the best he can to get by, and be the best lego he can be and he thinks this is possible by being the best team player. He is quickly learns this is not entirely true. He is recruited to be the "Special," a Lego that is supposed to be the most interesting. Emmet is chosen to take down an evil tyrant that is set out to glue the Lego universe into eternal stasis. He is helped by Wild Style, voiced by Elizabeth Banks, Batman, voiced by Will Arnett,  Vitruvius, voiced by Morgan Freeman, and many others.

This film has many great themes throughout, and is considered very well done. This film can be for kids, because mostly kids love Legos. However, the main theme of the film is individuality. It is great to be apart of a group, and have great friends. But learning to become your own person is an amazing goal for anyone to achieve. It was great to so many great actors help out with this film, because it was a fantastic film. It was also very funny. Please go see this film.

"Doctor Who's" Karen Gillan is Great in "Oculus"

"Oculus" is a mind-blower. It is a horror, and also thriller film that tells the story of a sister, Kaylie, and a brother, Tim. Kaylie, played by Karen Gillan, is a 23 year old trying to make a life with her fiance after her terrible childhood. Tim, played by Brenton Thwaites, was realeased from a mental hospital on his 21st birthday, and he plans to spend time with his sister. Throughout the film, we learn about the siblings' terrible childhood, and how their parents were commited by a supernatural phenomenon, being taken in by a mirror. The film is very confusing throughout, but if you pay attention throughout it is very exciting to watch.

This film is a great thriller, and very exciting. It reminded me of "Memento" and how you need to know what happens at the end of the film. It was great to see how they want from the past and the present, and how they were very similar in comparison. Karen Gillan was great for her role. She is very beautiful, and it is a great actress, especially on the unbelievably popular British show, "Doctor Who." Brenton Thwaites was also very good in his role. He is becoming a well-known actor in America, because of the new roles he is obtaining. This film is great because it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

"Louis C.K.'s Louie is Incredible.

"Louis C.K.'s Louie is incredible. "Louie" starts up again on May 5th, and it should be one of the best seasons. Louis C.K. is by far my favorite comedians because of his rawness, hilariousness, and how surpising he can be on stage. His show is hilarious also. His show is very honest, and he portarys his life as a normal American even though, he is one of the best comedians in the world. He deals with family troubles, divorce, dating after a divorce, and trying to be a great parent for his daughters, with hilarious happenings throughout the episode. And also some comedy specials throughout. The show is mostly done by Louis. He is the writer/director/producer and part editor of the show. It is an incredible show, that is hilariously intelligent.

"Crazy, Stupid, Love" is Great

"Crazy, Stupid, Love" is great. It tells the story of Cal, played by Steve Carrell. Cal is split from his wife in his mid forties and does not know what to do. His wife, Emily, played by Julianne Moore, cheated on Cal with a more powerful good looking man and it kills Cal. After weeks of being depressed he decides to go out to a bar. At the bar he meets Jacob, played by Ryan Gosling. Jacob is a ladies man that is good at getting girls, so he decides to Cal get out of his funk. After having a few one night stands, Cal seems to feel better. He starts to help his son with his relationship problems, and finds out his daughter, Hannah, played by Emma Stone, has found love. Everything is great until Cal finds out who Hannah is dating, he has come to reality about his new life, and find out what he really wants.

This film is great, and has an amazing cast. The son in this film Jonah Bobo was great, and watching this film we really feel for him when he is going through his first love. Emma Stone is always great in films. She is beautiful, funny, and great at what she does, and always a great add on in films. Julianne Moore was incredible for this also. She is always great in her roles, and it we felt for her also in this film, even though she was considered the "bad guy" in the relationship. Ryan Gosling is one of my favorite actors. He is fantastic in all of his roles, and in this film he was also very funny. And of course Steve Carrell did amazing. He is a great actor because he can play dramatic and comedic roles, and thats what makes a good actor, being able to play mutliple types of roles. Go see this film, you won't regret it.

"The Ocean's Trilogy" ("Ocean's Eleven", "Ocean's Twelve", and "Ocean's Thirteen") is Spectacular.

"The Ocean's Trilogy" ("Ocean's Eleven", "Ocean's Twelve", and "Ocean's Thirteen")  is spectacular. The story of Danny Ocean and his team in intricate heists of some of the most famous casinos is great to see remade. The original film was spectacular but the remake, was very well done. "Ocean's Twelve" and "Ocean's Thirteen" were ok, but it was great to watch each and every great character, and the great cast come alive on screen. There were countless big names in these films including, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Don Cheadle, and many others.

This film is great mainly because of the cast. George Clooney leads the pack with his amazing ability to create characters. He is one of the best actors I have seen on film, and it is a shame to see him lose so many Oscars each and every single year. Brad Pitt also he is incredible, and the fact that he can play so many different roles makes him an even better actor. When a person can play a Zombie Killer, a heistman, and a Major League Baseball team manager, they are amazing at acting. Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors of all time, regardless he only had a minor role in this film he really did a fantastic job. These films are great, and a great story throughout the trilogy.

"Ocean's Eleven" = 87/100 = B
"Ocean's Twelve" = 80/100 = B-
"Ocean's Thirteen" = 75/100 = C

"Swimming with Sharks" is a Great Example of Film Noir

"Swimming with Sharks" is a great example of Film Noir. It tells the story of Guy, played by Frank Whaley. Guy is an assistant to one of the biggest Hollywood producer, Buddy Ackerman, played by Kevin Spacey. Buddy is an abusive, conceited, pompous, angry, offensive producer that takes it out on Guy anyway he can. But he keeps reiterating that after the ridicule there will be success. Guy is not happy with his situation until he starts seeing Dawn, played by Michelle Forbes. Dawn is a producer and she is very powerful, attractive and starts to like Guy. The only problem Dawn and Buiddy has had a past, and it effects what is to come for the three of them.

This film is great to watch until the end. It is hilarious to watch how insanely offensive Kevin Spacey's character is. He is a womanizer, and treats everyone under him like dirt. Most of the film he tells Frank Whaley's character he "does not have a brain", or "you're happy I hate that." It is exciting, gripping, and it is one of Kevin Spacey's best characters. He is meaner in this film as the boss as in "Horrible Bosses." He is an amazing actor and his career shows for it. Frank Whaley does an amazing job for this film, and it skyrocketed his career. It is an amazing film to watch.

"Clerks" is Now a Cult Classic

"Clerks" is now a cult classic. It tells the story of convenience store clerks Dante, played by Brian O'Halloran, and Randal, played by Jeff Andreson. It is a stroy one day at the 7-eleven type store attached to a movie rental store. Dante is trying to deal with all of his issues while at work. He has girl trouble, school trouble, and work trouble. He is in his mid-twenties and still thinks he is not worth anything. He is trying to figure out exactly what he wants to do with his current situation. It is a hilarious and classic film to watch.

The film is in black and white, which helps make the feel of the film better. The authenticity of this film is unimaginable for a comedy about two convenience store clerks. This film had a sequel, and yes it was hilarious to watch, and Rosario Dawson does a great job as an add-on, hoewever, it did not capture the greatness of the original. This film is hilarious to watch all throughout, and Randal Graves, is one of the best characters Kevin Smith has created. Please watch this film.

"How I Met Your Mother" was very disappointing. I did not watch the show but I did watch the first season and the series finale to see what happened. I am extremely happy i did not spend ten years of my life watching this show. When you have a show that has a story dealing with a father meeting the love of his life, there needs to be a plethora of scenes dealing with the wife or the mother. The last scenes of this show could have been executed differently. If you think about it, the kids wanted him to be with their mom's sister, Robin. This was noticed in the first episode. Also, the kids of Ted, seemed like they loved Robin more than their own mother. This show's finale did get good and bad reviews, and I am not a fan of the show because I did not find it funny, it was repetitive, and it is sad that such great actors like Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan were apart of it for so long. If you loved the show good for you, that is great. I was not a fan, and I am glad that this show is over.
