The Oscars last night was great.

The Oscars last night was great. Ellen Degeneres was hilarious, and brought a new energy to the Oscars. She had a nonchalant, sarcastic, and relaxed way of making the ceremony move along smoothly. With "Gravity" stealing seven Oscars, this film was the winner of the night.

This film was exciting, powerful, and gripping, and it deserved the awards that it was given. Original Screenplay and Adapted Screenplay awards were given to the rightful owners. Spike Jonze did a spectacular job for "Her and it was probably the best written film he has ever made. John Ridley wrote a gripping story from Solomon Northup's courageous life he endured, these awards were well deserved.

Best Directing was probably the only steal I saw last night. Every nominee made amazing films. I do think maybe Martin Scorsese or Steve McQueen or David O. Russell could have won but Obviously the Academy disagreed with me. I was surprised to see that "Philomena" "Captan Phillips" "Nebraska" "American Hustle" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" did not win any awards whatsoever, regardless they were amazing films.

Lupita Nyong'o deserved her award, regardless Jennifer Lawrence and Sally Hawkins were close contenders. But Lupita really had a powerful performance and was deserving for award.

Jared Leto is incredible. He might be one of the best performers ever. While making "Dallas Buyers Club" he toured with "30 Seconds to Mars." And not only that, his performance in "Dallas Buyers Club" was impeccable. He is unbelievable, how talented he is, and I was happy that he won.

Cate Blanchett was incredible in "Blue Jasmine" I was not surprised that she won Best Actress. Amy Adams or Judi Dench could have pulled an upset, but Cate Blanchett was too good.

Best Actor I had some problems with. Matthew McConaughey was incredible in "Dallas Buyers Club" but he has only been in a few good films. The other nominees, including Leonardo Dicaprio and Christian Bale consistently make great films and have amazing roles in them. Matthew McConaughey is not my favorite actor, and I like the other actors in this category.  Regardless McConaughey won the award and Leonardo Dicaprio is still considered one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. Some people say he is not but he has not won an Oscar for any of his roles, and he is still underrated because of that reason.

Best Picture I was happy with. "12 Years a Slave" is an incredibly gripping story. Chiewetel Ejiofor did an amazing job for his role, and he deserved recognition for his role. Steve McQueen did an impeccable job for this film, and deserved his nomination for Best Director. Every film that was nominated was deserving and "12 Years a Slave" came out on top.

This Oscars was great, and I am satisfied with most of the outcomes. The ultimate winner is "Gravity" regardless that they did not win Best Picture. It was an amazing ceremony and I hope everyone liked it also.
