"Rocket Science" will Change your View on Life

"Rocket Science" is one of the best independent films you will ever see. It is about a stuttering boy named Ben, played by Nicholas D'Agosto. He is an outcast who is not happy with his life mainly because he is ostracized about his stutter. He is wanting change for himself so he befriends a great debater on the team at his high school. The friend really thinks he has a shot of bettering himself and actually succeeding at something if he sings when he debates. He is obviously very nervous but he overcomes. He then meets Ginny, played by Anna Kendrick, on the team and they develop a mostly physical relationship. He really becomes a better person through this experience and he does not love his life but he is better. he learns that life is not rocket science and life is easier done than said.

Nicholas D'Agosto is spectacular in this film. I have never heard of him after this film and he really does a dynamite job in this film. Anna Kendrick also does amazing in this film. This was her second feature film and she nailed it. She really played the part of "the girl next door" really well because she was this beautiful girl where Ben tried to be with, but thought he could not be with. This film was beautifully directed and written by Jeffrey Blitz, he really out did himself in this great independent movie. This film is extremely underrated and it is a film that is not very popular but deserves recognition for how fantastic it is.

Grade: 87/100 = B+
